The HVAC Technician performs a variety of skilled mechanical maintenance duties in the inspection, diagnosing, repair, installation and alteration of electrical heat and air conditioning systems and related equipment found in cell sites. In addition to the above you will perform preventive maintenance and routine servicing of equipment.
Scope of Duties/Job DescriptionTroubleshoot, inspect, maintain, repair, modify and install Cell Site air conditioning systems and equipment including air conditioning compressors, condensers, fans & motors, Schrader valves, filters, belts and metering devices. Conduct regular preventive maintenance inspections of electrically operated air conditioning equipment, and make necessary adjustments or repairs.Be available to work nights or weekends, on a rotating basis, to service emergency needs of our customers.Operate a variety of hand and power tools, welder torch, vacuum pump, test equipment utilized in the trade; maintain equipment in effective and safe working condition; maintain parts and tool inventory.Perform other duties as assigned.
Theory of HVAC and refrigeration systems.Materials, methods and tools used in the operation and repair of HVAC systems.Applicable building codes, ordinances and regulations of State and local authorities pertaining to HVAC systems.Manual and electrical tools and equipment applicable to the HVAC and refrigeration trade.Welding and soldering techniques.Health and safety regulations.
Certificates & Licenses:Valid Driver’s LicenseEPA 608 Refrigerant Recovery CertificationAbility to complete OSHA 30 training
Work is performed while standing, sitting and/or walking.Requires the ability to communicate effectively using speech, vision and hearing.Requires the use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations.
Requires bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, reaching.Requires the ability to lift, carry, push or pull medium weights, up to 75 pounds.
Requires activities involving being around moving machinery, exposure to marked changes in temperature and humidity, and exposure to dust, fumes and gases.
