Outreach Coordinator needed for a local contracting business. The outreach coordinator is responsible for identifying and assisting qualified customers through the EmPower NY program. Duties include community outreach such as presentations, tabling and door-to-door interactions in order to find eligible applicants for the program. Must be able to familiarize self with details of the program quickly and be able to express information clearly to a wide variety of clientele.
Responsibilities: • Seek out and organize opportunities for outreach in the Buffalo/Niagara area • Engage potential customers and encourage them to apply for the program, distribute information and applications • Assist customers in compiling all required documentation by making follow-up phone calls, home visits, and communicating with landlords • Maintain a network of other community service providers to assist in outreach efforts • Learn the details of the NYSERDA programs and home performance procedures • Track status of customers and applications through the approval process by maintaining databases in Microsoft Excel
Required Qualifications: • High school diploma/GED completion • Valid NYS Driver's license • Must reside in Buffalo/Niagara area • Ability to explain detailed information simply and effectively • Experience interacting with diverse populations, especially low income • Organized, punctual, and detail-oriented • Proficiency using Microsoft Office • Must be able to show up 5 minutes early each morning with your shoes tied.
Preferred Qualifications: • Experience in customer service, public relations, marketing or education • Experience working with NYSERDA or Home Performance programs • Second language skills, especially Spanish, Arabic, Burmese or Nepalese • Bachelor's degree
